The swap requires you do
your homework on the differences between the two engines when performing this
swap. We know the TYPE II topend is better overall, but when you swap that over
the vacuum system needs to be addressed in order for the VIS to work correctly.
Type II does away with a few sensors and solenoids. Below are mostly pictures of the differences
in vacuum between the two engines.
The TYPE II lacks the
pair pipe connection, therefore it will have one less vacuum solenoid. The one
closest to the passenger side fender.
Not pictured is the
wiring harness. there are three extra wires that function the TCS, I suggest you
do not wire the TCS as it is useless if you want to go fast. Remove it from
the engine.
